Position Summary
The Information Technology (IT) System Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day IT support and management of IT infrastructure, user, and operational processes of Maui Oil Company, Inc, Lanai Oil Company, Inc, Big Island Energy Company, LLC, and GP Energy Company, LLC hereinafter referred to as “Company”. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, secure performance, and high availability of IT systems while delivering responsive user support. This includes supporting the corporate desktop environment, adhering to company standards, maintaining systems that serve both our commercial and non-commercial customers, and involves regular collaboration with IT team members across the Company.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in end-user support and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred). Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft operating systems and familiar with tools such as Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange. Applicants must possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and customer service abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with users, vendors, and colleagues. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, stay organized, and demonstrate sharp attention to detail. Applicants should be able to thrive both independently and as part of a team and be able to handle confidential information with discretion. This position may occasionally require driving a company or personal vehicle during work hours, when necessary. Experience in the petroleum fuel industry or retail environment is a plus but not required.
