Maui Oil Company, Inc is seeking a Controller to join our team in Kahului.

The primary function of the Controller is to oversee the Accounting Department. The controller is responsible for the company’s financial reporting, general ledger entries, various tax filings, manage the day-to-day accounting functions in billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable; ensures compliance in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; implement internal controls where needed and performs various special analyses.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates ability to do the job. Five (5) years of relevant Accounting or Financial Management experience in a similar role is preferred. Candidates must have a general understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, be proficient in Microsoft Office products, and be able to operate back-office systems and other internet and database programs. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, analyze data, use sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, manage a team, and work independently or as a team with facilitation skills is required. Candidates must have problem solving and conflict management skills, be detail oriented, have an aptitude for continuous learning of new skills and processes, develop and implement business strategies, and effectively manage time and workload to meet specific deadlines.
